April 2 (Renewables Now) – Green infrastructure company Japan Asia Group Ltd (TYO:3751), or JAG, announced today it has completed work on 3.3 MW of solar power plants in Hokkaido prefecture.
Located in the towns of Yubetsu and Saroma, the projects were developed by the firm’s energy arm JAG International Energy Co Ltd.
Together, the photovoltaic (PV) facilities are estimated to produce enough power to meet the annual demand of 1,090 local homes. The solar farms cover a combined area of 89,400 sq m and use solar panels supplied by Japanese module manufacturer Solar Frontier KK. Local utility Hokkaido Electric Power will be the sole purchaser of the plant’s output, JAG said.
Last week, the company announced it has secured a syndicated loan with NEC Capital Solutions Ltd in support of a 16.6-MW solar power project in Tochigi prefecture.
